Gwyneth Paltrow Says Her Mom Group Chat Was on “Fire” Over Timothée Chalamet Kissing Photos
Gwyneth Paltrow shared her friends’ funny reactions after she was photographed making out with
Timothée Chalamet while filming her new movie Marty Supreme.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s not a regular mom, she’s a cool mom.
The 52-year-old revealed she got some impressive street cred when she was recently photographed locking lips with Timothée Chalamet while the two were filming the upcoming movie Marty Supreme.
“You’re trying to have this scene, and it’s a private moment, and there are paparazzi,” Gwyneth recalled on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Nov. 21. “And then all of my mom group texts were fire.”
The intimate scene at the center of the chat was filmed in October in a New York City alleyway as Paltrow was photographed holding a necklace with her arms around Chalamet before he pushed her up against a wall in a steamy makeout moment.
The Goop founder, who shares kids Apple Martin, 20, and Moses Martin, 18, with her ex-husband Chris Martin, shared that multiple members of her family encouraged her to take on the role in the Josh Safdie film about table tennis champ Marty Reisman.
“Actually, it was my brother [Jake Paltrow], because I sort of have not done a lot of films recently and have been focused on my business, on Goop,” she explained. “And then this movie came up and my brother—who’s a filmmaker—was like, ‘This is a great director. You should meet with him.’”
However, there was one last missing puzzle piece to make Paltrow’s role a done deal.
“And then when Apple found out that Timothée Chalamet was in it,” she noted, “that sealed the deal.”
While Apple might still be weighing in on her mom’s decisions, she and her younger brother have now both left the nest.
“They abandoned me,” Paltrow, who is married to Brad Falchuk, joked of her kids. “They all went to college.”
As for how she’s taking it, the Shakespeare in Love star admitted, “They’re happy and great, which is just what you want. But it’s lonely.”
